Privacy policy.

This policy explains what Praxis Editions collects through this website, how the information is used, and the choices available to you.

1. Scope and operator

This policy applies to the Praxis Editions website, contact forms, newsletter signups, companion-resource requests, and related publisher email communications (collectively, the “Services”). Praxis Editions is the operator of the Services and the controller of personal information described here.

Purchases are completed through Amazon and are governed by Amazon’s privacy practices. Praxis Editions does not receive or store your payment-card information through this website.

2. Information we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Information you submit: name, email address, inquiry topic, message, resource request, marketing-consent choice, and any other information you choose to include.
  • Communication records: messages sent to or from Praxis Editions, delivery status, subscription status, and unsubscribe or suppression records.
  • Technical and security information: internet protocol address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, referral information, and security or diagnostic logs that may be processed by our hosting and email providers.

Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial-account credentials, tax returns, medical information, or other sensitive information through website forms or ordinary email.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide requested companion resources and related service messages;
  • respond to reader-support, download-help, book-correction, rights, and permissions inquiries;
  • send marketing emails only when the recipient has affirmatively subscribed or otherwise lawfully requested them;
  • operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the Services;
  • prevent spam, fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access;
  • maintain records of consent and honor unsubscribe, deletion, and other rights requests; and
  • comply with law and protect legal rights.

4. Companion resources and marketing consent

Access to promised companion resources is separate from general marketing consent. A legitimate resource requester may be added to the list used to deliver and administer that resource. The requester is added to the general Praxis Editions marketing list only after making the separate, optional marketing choice.

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe method. We may retain limited suppression information after an unsubscribe so that we can continue honoring the request. A resource-delivery or service email may still be sent when needed to fulfill a request you made.

5. How information is disclosed

We may disclose information to service providers that process it for the purposes above, including:

  • Netlify for website hosting, security, serverless functions, and form submissions;
  • Brevo for contact-list management and transactional or marketing email delivery;
  • professional advisors, auditors, insurers, or authorities when reasonably necessary for compliance, safety, or legal claims; and
  • a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or transfer of all or part of the publishing operation, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the current website does not use a dedicated behavioral-advertising or audience-profiling service. If these practices change, this policy and any legally required choices will be updated before the change takes effect.

6. Cookies, logs, and external links

The current website does not intentionally deploy a dedicated advertising or behavioral analytics cookie. Hosting, security, and content-delivery infrastructure may process standard request data or use technologies necessary to deliver and protect the Services.

When you follow a link to Amazon or another third-party service, that service may collect information under its own privacy policy. Praxis Editions does not control third-party sites.

7. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide requested resources, maintain consent and suppression records, resolve disputes, protect the Services, and satisfy legal or accounting obligations. Contact inquiries are ordinarily reviewed for deletion or anonymization within 24 months after the last substantive interaction unless a longer period is reasonably required. Provider security logs follow the applicable provider settings and operational needs.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe information submitted through the Services has been compromised, contact us promptly.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you, withdraw marketing consent, or object to or restrict certain processing where applicable. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when an exception or legal obligation applies. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Nevada consumers may submit a verified request directing us not to make a sale of covered information through the contact address below. Praxis Editions does not currently make such sales. Where another state or country grants additional applicable rights, including rights to know, delete, correct, opt out, restrict, or obtain a portable copy, you may submit the same request and we will respond as required by applicable law.

10. International visitors

Praxis Editions operates from the United States. If you access the Services from another country, information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. Where applicable, processing is based on your consent, fulfillment of your request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Services, or compliance with legal obligations.

11. Children

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

12. Policy changes

We may update this policy as the Services, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented on the website or communicated by another appropriate method before or when they take effect, as required by law.

13. Contact and requests

Send privacy questions, verified privacy requests, and reader-resource questions to readers@praxiseditions.com.
